HISTORY
1992, Norbert Furnee and Phillip Hand designated 22 Mills Place, Pasadena, as the Equator. The space was originally a horse stable, but let’s face it, horses aren’t as economical in Old Town Pasadena as they were in the 1800’s. In 1978, the city of Pasadena passed a bill for Old Town’s Revitalization program, and now Colorado Boulevard has become a melting pot for big and small companies to offer their services, with tidbits of other attractions and distractions to add to the allure. The Equator, being one of them.

NOW
Now owned by, whom shall be known as Teddy, the equator has continued to evolve to combat the ever changing interests of the public. The Equator has been an ice cream parlor, complete with pool tables. An internet café, a prestigious café, a Hookah bar, and now an Asian fusion restaurant café with a full bar. The Equator has taken its history and snowballed all the great ideas to come up with even more exciting ideas, and The Equator doesn’t plan on stopping there.

COFFEE
Our coffee is still as delicious as it always was, even before Starbucks and Coffee Beans moved into town, and our regulars can attest to that. The Equator isn’t conglomerate owned so we deliver top- notch service, every time. We know our regular customers by name, as they know all of our names, and not once have we ever worn a nametag. We’re your neighbors, and we’ll love you as one too.

ATMOSPHERE
We’re very open to fundraisers and are friends of the Pasadena Police Department, in fact, we fund-raise for them as well so we’re always safe in Pasadena. It’s a wonderful place to have a sit and a latte, as well as a lovely place to have lunch. Our lunch menus are amazing, made by very capable cooks in a tiny kitchen in the back. Never has our beloved tiny kitchen ever gotten in the way of how good the food is. Not to mention 1$ martini's on Tuesday's from 4pm to close, and BOTTOMLESS mimosas from 11am to 4pm. I haven’t even gotten started about dinner!

CUISINE
Dinner time at The Equator is a spectacular place to be, whether you’re just dining out, meeting friends, or on a date. Our wonderful servers go out of their way to show you a good time, every time, and just in case, our bartenders to the same. The ambiance of The Equator completely changes from lunch to dinner, so if you think you saw it’s homeliness during the day, check out it’s madness at night, even we have to cut loose every now and then, so why not involve you too?

FILMING
Hello film makers! The Equator is a great place to shoot! We love the attention, and the space is large and quiet enough for you to get all your equipment in. Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210, and Party of Five shot a few episodes here. The Brady Bunch shot here, The Cable Guy had a scene here, Halle Berry shot a commercial here, and she shot it with the Yellow M&M! That’s only to name a few, in any case, we love the attention.Z

PASADENA'S HIDDEN GEM
The Equator is just a very lovely place. Family owned, service oriented, and aesthetically pleasing. Great night life, and great people who work there. The best way for you to discover any of this, is to just come down and see for yourself, maybe you’ll discover your new regular coffee shop where everybody knows your name.
